Alternative Care Arrangements
Providing support and stability in a home-like environment for children at need where more permanent options are not available at that point in time.
Mentoring
Delivering support to children and young people in crisis by providing a significant role model in their life through regular one on one mentoring sessions.
Transport
Providing safe and reliable transport services to children and young people, ensuring they get to where they need to go.
In Home Supports
Provision of education and care for families where conventional or mainstream services are either not relevant, available or not recognised.
Supervised Family Time
Facilitating enjoyable, positive and meaningful supervised contact between a child/young person and their parents/family members.
Emergency Respite Supervision
Providing experienced team members to facilitate one-off or reoccurring breaks and/or support for carers and young people.
Alternative Care Arrangements
Alternative care arrangements is when children are supported by Youth Workers in a temporary home-like residence. ACA has been established as a transitional phase for children who are yet to enter foster care or the care of a loved one. The aim of ACA is to provide a stable and home like environment for children to ensure familiarly and consistency, enabling a positive outlook for the future.
Out Of Home Care
Out-of-home care is provided to children and young people who are unable to live with their own families. Foster carers take on the responsibilities of a parent for a period of time, to provide a safe, nurturing and secure family environment for children and young people needing care. Children and young people stay in care until they're able to safely return home. The length of time in care will vary. If they're not able to return to their birth parents, we try to locate a member of the child’s extended family to care for them.
Other Youth Work Supports
Children and young people need a range of services to meet their needs, beyond what is provided in their placement. These include services that facilitate connections and relationships through contact and respite, and assistance through the provision of mentoring and transportation services. Support services available to play an important role in maintaining children/young people’s contact with family by creating a foundation for restoration and in meeting the broader needs of children and young people.
